In this guide

MSPortal, Propel Your MSP, Strategy Overview and vCIOToolbox are alternatives to evaluate alongside Humanize IT. First decide whether you are replacing software, changing your client-communication process or seeking help to train advisors; those needs overlap, but a new application alone does not resolve all of them.

Separate the framework from the software

Humanize IT combines client communication, software and a framework supported by coaching and community. Make those parts visible in your evaluation instead of treating the subscription as a single feature list.

Ask advisors what they would miss if the tool disappeared tomorrow. Their answer might be a report template, but it could also be a meeting structure, a coaching relationship or a shared vocabulary for business conversations. Each needs an owner in the replacement plan.

Keep the parts of your process that work. A platform change is easier to evaluate when you can distinguish a software limitation from a skill or adoption problem.

1. MSPortal for an ongoing client workspace

MSPortal is our recommendation when you already know how you want to advise clients and need a workspace that connects the conversation to action. Its vCIO tools, budgeting and project management are the relevant areas to inspect.

Have an advisor lead a familiar review, then ask the client to find the agreed priority and the next action afterward. The test is whether the plan remains understandable without another explanatory email from the advisor.

Validate: your team's onboarding and training needs separately. A successful demonstration of software does not establish that every advisor will use the same process consistently.

2. Propel Your MSP for the meeting experience

Propel Your MSP emphasizes live client strategy discussions. Consider it when the main question is how your advisors engage business owners in a planning decision.

Use a client who has more requested work than available budget. Ask the presenter to help the sponsor prioritize, explain a tradeoff and record the agreed plan. Include an advisor who is still developing their presentation skills.

Validate: the preparation required and the assistance available to the team. Our Propel Your MSP alternatives guide focuses on this evaluation.

3. Strategy Overview for a repeatable planning structure

Strategy Overview describes assessments, initiatives, roadmaps and budgets. Evaluate it when your team needs a consistent structure for connecting technical observations to a client plan.

Ask two advisors to work from the same finding. Compare their recommendation, explanation and next step. If the results differ, determine whether the difference comes from the tool's configuration or from an unresolved service standard.

Validate: how your preferred client language and assessment approach fit the proposed setup.

4. vCIOToolbox for advisory practice scope

vCIOToolbox's platform overview covers account management, business reviews and GRC. Put it on the shortlist if you want to organize several advisory responsibilities together.

Use an account with both a strategic investment and an unresolved risk. Ask which role maintains each record and how the business sponsor sees the priorities. Clarify ownership before discussing a wider rollout.

Validate: the functions and services included in the proposal, especially where different team members need different parts of the platform.

Plan the people side of a Humanize IT transition

Treat adoption as part of the replacement project. A technically complete migration can still fail if the advisory team loses a process it understands.

  1. Inventory templates, client histories and the meeting framework you use today.
  2. Identify which coaching or community resources the team relies on.
  3. Run a pilot with both an experienced advisor and a newer colleague.
  4. Ask a client to describe the plan and next decision after the review.
  5. Assign responsibility for training and quality review after launch.

To assess MSPortal, start with the sample client review and book a demo using your existing meeting structure. Evaluate the current pricing alongside the effort required to make the process work for your team.
