Project Reality

Clients Deserve Visibility Into Their Projects

The Problem

Clients constantly ask for project updates because they have no self-service way to check

A shared project workspace with status, milestones, deliverables, and published updates

The Outcome

Clients check their own project status on their own terms, without waiting for a response

Clients can check progress between conversations

The Problem

Clients lose the thread when delivery plans, approvals and project updates live in different places

Native projects keep the plan, delivery work, decisions and client-visible updates in the same branded workspace

The Outcome

Clients can see what is happening, what comes next and where their input is needed

One place to review the work and the next steps

The Problem

Clients only find out a project is behind schedule when a deadline is missed

Project health indicators and dated work help your team explain risks and keep clients informed

The Outcome

Clients can discuss changes with their project team using a shared view of progress

Make project conversations specific and informed

What's Included

Core client-portal capabilities in one platform, with optional services identified separately.

Native Project Delivery

Build reusable templates, create an MSPortal-only project, and manage phases, tickets, owners, priorities, dates and time without creating PSA project records.

Client Collaboration

Keep milestones, deliverables, decisions and action items together. Company scope, roles and visibility settings control what each client can access.

AI Summaries and Updates

Ask Project AI to explain progress or draft a weekly update from available project evidence. Review proposed changes and select Apply before they are saved.

First-Party MCP Integration

Connect AI tools to project context and supported project changes through MCP. Permissions, company scope and confirmation govern read and write access.

Project Context in QBRs and Meetings

Bring project reporting blocks into QBRs and project records into meeting agendas, so delivery progress and client decisions inform the conversation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Project Management in MSPortal

Can I manage a complete project without a PSA?

Yes. New projects use MSPortal only when PSA project sync is disabled. Confirm the wizard's destination before creating the project from a template. If PSA project sync is enabled, the configured PSA and company mapping determine the destination.

Can clients see and participate in projects?

Yes. Clients can access permitted projects and client-visible collaboration items in their branded portal. Company scope, role permissions, project access rules and display settings determine what they can see and change.

What does Project AI do?

Project AI reads available project context to answer questions and draft project summaries, weekly updates and collaboration items. Changes appear as proposals for review. Select Apply to save an approved proposal; a chat response alone does not save a change.

Does MCP cover every project action?

MSPortal provides first-party project MCP tools for context and selected confirmed writes, including updates, milestones, deliverables, decisions, status and assignments. Coverage depends on the operation and provider. Native project creation, template design, and phase/ticket creation and deletion use the app in the current release.

How do projects connect to QBRs and meetings?

Choose project reporting blocks in the report builder and add projects to meeting agendas. Bring delivery health, timelines, activity and decisions into client reviews using the project context available to your account.

Can I keep using PSA projects?

Yes. MSPortal also syncs projects from ConnectWise, HaloPSA and Autotask. Native records stay in MSPortal; supported PSA changes can write back to their provider. The available actions depend on your integration and permissions.
